Maria Elena and LaShone Denise at Makeshift DC located at 1321 Linden Court NE WDC 20002 for the 4 week program: The  Perfect Union: Yoga & Meditation. 

In this program , meditation is demystified so that it is easier to include in your everyday life. You will learn about different types of meditation ( love and kindness, body scanning, breath awareness meditation, and mindfulness meditation). Every week you will be guided in a thirty minute meditation in a safe and nourishing space. These meditation practices will be enhanced by an engaging and tension relieving yoga class.

Thursday, July 11th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm 

Class One: Explore the question, what is meditation? Why combine it with mindful movement?  Participate in a 30 minute guided meditation of focus while  removing false patterns and beliefs. Share in a destressing, yoga and stretch class. 

Thursday, July 18 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm 

Class Two: The elements of conscious breathing and how to integrate meditation into your daily life. Share in a yoga class with an emphasis on Kumbhaka Breathing (Breath Retention) and Kapalabhati  breathing. 

Thursday, July 25th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Class Three:  Guidance on how to protect your aura before yoga and meditation and align with your presence. Participate in 30 minutes of alignment and your presence of I AM. Share in a yoga class that takes you on a musical journey of "I am" and internal empowerment. 

Thursday, August 1st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm 

Class Four:  How to prepare your space for meditation.  Introduction of Contemplative Meditation. Participate in 30 minutes of guided contemplative meditation. Share in a yoga class focused on self- awareness and trust. Enjoy a nourishing  meal with community.

Thursday, May 9th at 6:30pm-8:00pm
Class One-Includes an in-depth discussion on the havoc that prolonged stress cause within the human body and the introduction to a specialized yoga sequence that immediately reduces the production of stress hormones. 

Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30pm-8pm 
Class Two-Combines meditation, breath-work and yoga to increase body awareness,  create a sense of calm and personal empowerment. 

Tuesday, May 21st at 6:30pm-8pm 
Class Three-Teaches self-regulation through body scanning, meditation, breath-work and yoga. 

Thursday, May 30th at 6:30pm to 8:30pm. 
Class Four-This class celebrates each participant for taking responsibility for his/her health and wellness. It includes an anti-stress Spa yoga class  with candlelight and a foot massage. Participants  will also be lead through a mindful eating exercise with nourishing antioxidant food.
